It's 5:34 in the morning. I've been awake since 4:00, but I feel bright and sunny today, so I changed my journal style to reflect my mood.

I had an unusually busy weekend. Saturday, I went to Athfest in the evening and saw Don Chambers + GOAT and Patterson Hood and the Screwtopians. Both were awesome, as usual, and my hearing had completely returned by noon on Sunday. I did get a little nostalgic, though, because last year Ryan was here for AthFest, and we saw Don Chambers at the Georgia Theatre, which was destroyed by fire on June 19.

Sunday was spent wandering around Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta. It is one of my favorite places. I also went to the Fernbank Museum to see the dinos. Of course, there was True Blood Sunday night.

This week is shaping up to be alright.

I'm having a "me" day.

I stayed in bed late this morning. When I finally made myself get up at 09:00, I drank two cups of delicious Fireside coffee. It's a yummy brew straight from Helena, Montana.

Initially, I wanted some greasy bacon and hash browns from Waffle House for brunch, but I opted for the more healthy veggie quesadilla from The Grit, washed down with an ice cold glass of lemonade. Afterwards, I toddled on over to Red Eye Coffee for a tiny cup of chocolate gelato heaven and this week's edition of Flagpole.

Later this afternoon, I'm having a massage. Ahhhh, bliss!

I slept until 08:00 this morning! It's been a while since I slept past 07:00. Granted, I did stay up until well after midnight trying to finish my book.

I'm reading Unleashed by Kristopher Reisz.  It's fantastic, and well worth a read, should you be so inclined.

I currently have 12 books waiting to be read.  I'm not sure which one I will start next.

I went to see The English Beat at the 40 Watt last Wednesday night. The show was fantastic. I can't remember the last time I danced so much!

The opening band, Outlaw Nation, was really good, too.

My Freewill Astrology horoscope for the week:

"Wisdom is knowing I am nothing," said Indian philosopher Nisargadatta Maharaj. "Love is knowing I am everything. And between the two my life moves." According to my calculations, Sagittarius, you'll be more on the "knowing you are everything" side of the polarity for the next few weeks. That's because a flood is imminent. I expect you'll be on the receiving end of a massive outreach from the universe -- an influx of invitations, inquiries, and offers to make connection. You should also be prepared for the dizzying pleasure that comes from seeing how profoundly interlinked and interdependent you are."

I'm thinking a massive outreach from the universe would be good right about now. Dizzying pleasure...yes, please.

This is my Freewill Astrology horoscope for the week:

The planets are conspiring to unleash energies that will touch you in ways you didn't realize you needed to be touched. Any minute now you may begin to feel a pleasurable burning sensation in your soft underbelly, or a prickly wake-up call in your willpower, or a ticklish electricity running through your funny bone. What does it all mean? Maybe nothing. Or maybe it means so much that you can't possibly analyze its meaning. What a valuable gift that would be! When is the last time you felt free of the need to have to understand everything?

Touch me in ways I didn't realize I needed to be touched, huh? Sounds a little kinky. This could be very interesting...

My name is Lisa, and it's been two weeks since my last post.

That's a record. I don't think I've ever gone so long without posting. I've been a bad, bad, livejournaler.

That said, a lot as been going on in my life, but I don't feel like putting it out there in the blog-o-sphere. It doesn't belong there, except, perhaps, in private entries.

I'm at work at UGA tonight. Tomorrow evening will be my last for the summer. I've been offered some prn on-call shifts with a local hospice, so I think I'm going to do that to replace my UGA income until August.

I'm going to make banana pudding this weekend for the first time in a long time. It's a special request from Evan.

My timer just buzzed. Time for me to get the instruments out of the sterilizer...

Evan and I got to spend a little time together when he got home from school today. We were sitting on the couch discussing our respective days when, for no reason, he said, "You are a champ among mothers." It made me smile.

I am trying to spend as much time as possible with him this year. He will be going off to college this time next year, and he won't have as much time for his mom. Ok, maybe "going off to college" is a litte dramatic, since he's planning on going to UGA. It's not like he's going across the country, but still.

I'm proud of him. He's responsible and intelligent and thoughtful. He cares about people. He is a good son, and a good man. I am very fortunate.

It's been a good weekend. The weather has been really beautiful, and I've gotten stuff done. As always, there was laundry.

Evan and I had breakfast at IHOP yesterday morning. He's trying to talk me into helping him buy a motorcycle. I told him to develop a workable financial plan and then we would see. I've gotta give the kid credit. He's already been shopping around for insurance, and figuring up the savings in both gasoline and money for the motorcycle vs his truck. He's always good about doing his research.

Last night, I watched Let the Right One In with Andrea and Alex. There was delicious coffee and peach pie. I'm going to watch LtROI again tonight with the Sunday Night Movie Group.

I'm planning to have lunch with the Jimmy at Doc Chey's this afternoon, and then I'm going to The Mall to look for a strapless bra. I've recently bought several summery shirts that require boob support, but a regular bra just won't work. I hate bra shopping!

The weather is supposed to change drastically tomorrow, and that makes me sad. By mid-week, though, it will be seasonal again, so I just have to get through a couple of cold days before the warm returns.

Don't come to the Health Center still drunk from last night. It's not pretty, and you look like a jackass.

That is all. Please resume your normal activities.
